For this segment of our assignment We must plan a live show with a factual setting, our show will be a review show which will contain reviews of both trailers and films as well as a game review.
What is Factual programming?:
Factual programming is a very important part of modern television as it can sway opinions, it can inform masses of people who would otherwise not have access to the information that is provided by factual programming.
Summary of Influences:
Our show has multiple influences, one of which being Friday Download, a show in which a group of younger presenters review shows and games in a fun yet factual way, our show will follow a similar format, although we will have an older target audience.
Another of our influences will be match of the day, in which a group of men will review the football from the previous day, this format could be used for out show as it laid out as more an open discussion, this will give an more open aura to the show than just one person talking to a camera.
Target Audience:
Our target audience will be about 15 to 18 years old and a mixture of both male and female, as the subjects discussed will attract audience member of both genders. The target audience will also be more nerdy and into popular culture as the reviews will be on films and games, so this would not interest the older generation.
Base of A Show:
Our first segment will be a review of the legend of zelda breath of the wild video game, this is because the game is a recent release and so it will attract fans of the series to the show, so that they can see a review of the latest instalment of their beloved franchise.
The next segment will be off the new power rangers movie, as it is a reboot of a well established franchise it will again attract a large audience who wish to see how the reboot to their believed childhood franchise was received.
The final segment of our show will cover trailers, these trailers will be the trailer for the new spider-man film and the new Justice League trailer, these trailers have only recently been released and have huge fan bases behind them, this will attract large audiences to our show.
Job Roles:
Floor manager: Angus Pierce - the floor manager ensures that the show runs smoothly and tells everyone were they need to go and what they need to do.
Vision mixer: Luke Hughes - The vision mixer is there to ensure that the show's behind the scene clips are played at the right time, that the cameras are moved into the right positions and the right shots are put on the screen at the right time.
Lighting: Ryan Day - The lighting is crucial to the show, if the lighting is poor it will give an awful effect and possibly cause the audience to switch off.
Cameras: Cameron Bowyer, Benjamin Stevens, Connor Malone - The camera men are there to actually film the show, otherwise there simply would not be a show.
Ident: Connor Malone - The ident is a sort of short advertisement for the show, it will explain the show and give the audience a feel for it all in a short time frame, otherwise the ident will take up to much time and this will effect the quality of the show by taking focus away from the show itself and more onto the ident.
Script: Benjamin Stevens - The script is there so that the presenter know what they need to say and when, this helps the floor manager and vision mixer ensure that the show goes forward as planned.
Trailer: Luke Hughes, Angus Pierce - the trailer for the show, unlike the ident, is much longer and gives as much information as possible on the show and why the audience should watch it.

Link review Cameron Bowyer - The reviews are the main part of the show, they however will be written separately then given to the script writer to put together as one cohesive script, the reviews will, as stated below, be objective, not subjective, as this ruins the point of the show.
Statement of Ethics:
To remain ethical, our show must contain accurate information and must not be swayed by our opinion. i.e I must not give a objective review and avoid giving an subjective review, as this will not be factual and instead my own opinion, which is not what the target audience will be coming to see. This also applies to all other reviews on the show, if we are subjective, it is no longer a review, but just an explanation of our opinion, which may deter some viewers from watching our show.
This is also important as it is a factual show, if we do not keep to the factual setting of the show it will no longer be factual and therefore not be what the audience came to see, nor what is on the assignment brief, meaning we will fail the assignment.
During the show I was in charge of the lighting, I had to ensure that the light levels on the set fit the mood and also allowed the hosts to be seen clearly by the camera and as consequence the audience, this role was tedious as it only had a small piece of action and then lost its charm quickly as it became repetitive and I quickly became bored and started to lose concentration, however the show itself went reasonably well, everyone knew their job roles and everyone worked together to push through the difficulties that we where faced with when creating the show.
However we did face quite a few difficulties in filming, our footage for our ident did not work, and some of our clips had not rendered correctly, leaving random clips playing off screen adding, however there was only a few mistakes overall so the show went ok, whilst we could of been more organised the show was overall a reasonable success however, we should of prepared the script earlier and chosen our hosts more wisely as they were not familiar with the script and this caused them to stumble over their words in places, confidence was also an issue as some did not look the part of a reviewer whilst others voiced opinions on subjects they did not understand, unraveling the review show as a whole.
